Logo Design and Why It's Important

Let’s start with the basics. What is a logo? A logo is a design that symbolizes an organization, brand, or company. It is used by a brand in various aspects such as letterhead, advertising, and signs. It should be a simple visual mark that helps customers easily identify your organization as your own.

Logo design is incredibly important for several reasons. It establishes brand identity, allows easy recognition of your brand, indicates professionalism, and gives you the opportunity to show up your competition. But how does it do all these things? Let’s take a look!

Identity

The identity of your brand is made up of all the things that you do. Everything you post, create, say to a customer are all representative of who you are as a company. When people first look at your website or see your logo- you want to show them a great first impression! Studies indicate that when brands invest in a quality recognizable logo, their brand loyalty increases by up to 48%. When we set out to design a logo for your brand, there will be a ton of questions- who is your brand? What do you do? What is your ideal aesthetic? What do you want people to know about your company at first sight? I know for myself that as soon as I see a good logo, I am immediately drawn to Google- why? Because I want to know who they are and what they do. When the logo is good, I remember it for a long time and hopefully for the brand, I need their services!

Recognition

I don’t know how much there is to say here but let’s take a quick glance at really iconic brands. Double golden arches, a twin tailed mermaid, an iconic swoosh. All these brands have in common is an iconic logo. I don’t even need to tell you who I’m talking about. The goal in creating a logo is to create something iconic and easy to remember. We want people to know that your logo is in their mind the same way the golden arches are. Business logos are the stamp or seal for what businesses are all about.

Professionalism

Logos show professionalism. They show that you took a lot of time and thought to establish your brand. Typically, when people see a logo, they associate it with the quality of services being provided by a particular company. Consumers want to associate themselves with a company that has a great logo, web design, and other marketing items. To signify what your business stands for, an eye-catching and professional logo is key.

Show Up Your Competitors

To grab a good market share, a professionally created logo will be your best friend. When your logo looks better than others in your market, it sets you apart from the competition as your logo quality will speak for the quality of services you offer.

So, now that you’ve learned all about what goes into a logo, are you ready to take the plunge and ensure that your logo stands up to those in your market?
